Managing Your Product Lists

The Taxonomy Matcher allows you to save and manage lists of your products. This is particularly useful for repeatedly matching the same set of products or for organizing different product catalogs.

1. Accessing Product List Management

Navigate to the Product Lists page from your Dashboard or the main navigation bar.

2. Viewing Your Product Lists

On the "Product Lists" page, you will see a list of all your saved product lists. For each list, you can typically see:

  • Name
  • Description (if provided)
  • Creation Date
  • Number of products in the list
  • File name (of the original upload)

3. Creating/Uploading a New Product List

You can create new product lists in a couple of ways:

a. From the "Product Lists" Page

  1. Click the "Upload New Product List" (or similar) button.
  2. You will be presented with a form:
    • Name (Required): Give your product list a descriptive name (e.g., "Summer Collection 2024").
    • Description (Optional): Add a brief description for context.
    • CSV File (Required): Click to select your product CSV file.
      • The CSV must use a semicolon (;) as the delimiter.
      • The first row must be a header row containing at least id, title, and description.
  3. Upload & Save: Click "Upload and Save List". The file will be uploaded, and the list metadata will be saved.

b. From the Matcher Page (When Uploading a CSV)

  1. On the Matcher page, select the "Upload CSV File" option for product data.
  2. Upload your .csv product file.
  3. After a successful upload, an option "Save as new product list" will appear.
  4. Click it, provide a Name and optional Description, and save.

4. Editing Product List Details (Name/Description)

Currently, direct editing of the content of a saved product list (i.e., the products within it) is not supported. To change the products, you would typically delete the old list and upload a new one with the updated products.

However, you can usually edit the Name and Description of a saved product list:

  1. On the "Product Lists" page, find the list you wish to edit.
  2. Click the "Edit" button or link associated with it.
  3. Modify the Name and/or Description fields.
  4. Save Changes: Click "Update List" (or similar).

5. Deleting a Product List

  1. On the "Product Lists" page, locate the list you want to delete.
  2. Click the "Delete" button or icon.
  3. A confirmation dialog will appear.
  4. Confirm the deletion. The product list (both the metadata and the associated CSV file in storage) will be permanently removed.
    • Note: Deleting a product list will not affect past match history entries that used it.

6. Using Your Saved Product Lists in the Matcher

  1. Navigate to the Matcher page.
  2. Under the "Provide Product Data" section, choose the "Use Saved Product List" radio button.
  3. Select your desired product list from the dropdown.
  4. Proceed with selecting your taxonomy and start matching.

Best Practices for Product Lists

  • Clear Naming: Use descriptive names for your lists so you can easily identify them later (e.g., "Q4 Electronics Catalog", "New Arrivals - Apparel").
  • Consistent CSV Format: Always ensure your CSVs adhere to the required format (semicolon-delimited, id;title;description headers) to avoid upload or processing errors.
  • Manage Versions by Name: If you have different versions of a product catalog, consider including a version number or date in the list name (e.g., "Main_Products_v1.1_2024-05").

Efficiently managing your product lists can save you significant time when performing recurring matching tasks.
